I have long had an interest in magic, particularly Gospel magic, and also a passion for helping the underprivileged around the world.   Since 1986 the two have gone hand in hand.

 

Since 2003, I have worked voluntary for a Perth based health and development organisation, Cosmos Healthcare Inc, committed to improving the health and well being of people in some of the world's poorest communities.  My previous employment provided me the opportunity to lead medical teams twice a year to India and Zimbabwe to provide community-based, primary health care.  In February 2019 this company went into liquidation and my employment ended. 

 

It is my hope that the making and selling of magic effects through Tragic Mix, will continue to support my ongoing work in leading medical teams around the world, for many years to come.

As for the name Tragic Mix, I have always been concerned that delivering a message through the art of magic, drew unwanted attention to myself.  My thought and intention, apart from the fun play on words, was that the name would if anything, put me down so that that the message would be better heard.

All the magic effects on this site have been personally made.   Some effects I have designed and built with a 3D printer,  All have been carefully crafted and tested for optimum performance.
